I want to learn card magic, where should I start? (Beginner)

The classic beginner book is The Royal Road to Card Magic by Jean Hugard and Frederick Braué. If books are not your style, Royal Road has a companion DVD showing and explaining the sleights in the book - Royal Road To Card Magic by R. Paul Wilson. I’d recommend getting the book and video when starting out. Read the lesson, then reinforce your education with the video. This video is not to be confused with the cheaper and inferior product by Magic Makers. The video by R. Paul Wilson is also often on sale at llepub.com.

The best foundation for learning card magic

Alternatively you could start with Card College by Roberto Giobbi. Card College is a series of 5 books that will last you all the way from beginner to intermediate (or even advanced) performer. The book is more expensive than Royal Road, so start with Vol 1 and buy the next when you have mastered the first. Card College also has a companion video for the first two books - Here.
